Kanye West, the disgraced former shoe salesman and dinner companion of Holocaust-denier Nick Fuentes, is reportedly under investigation for battery following an encounter on Friday, according to TMZ.
A widely circulated video showed West leaving his daughter’s basketball game and becoming irritated with the paparazzi. In a first engagement, he argues with a man, essentially begging for privacy. From behind his camera phone, the man reminds Ye (which is Kanye West’s legal name) that he’s in a public place, and suggests that if he wants to be with his kids, he should do so at home.
“It’s called human rights,” West responded.
Later, he approaches a woman in a car, who reminds him that “he’s a celebrity.” He then grabs her phone and tosses it into the street.
Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene at around 4:30 pm, and a source told the outlet that he was the “named suspect in a battery investigation.”
Earlier this month, Kanye reportedly married Bianca Censori, the “head of architecture” for West’s Yeezy brand. Yeezy lost its clothing and sportswear distribution last year after he went on a series of podcasts and made controversial statements. “I can say antisemitic things, and Adidas can’t drop me,” he said, before Adidas dropped him.
The wedding was a private ceremony in Beverly Hills, though at the time there was no legal marriage certificate involved. The pair honeymooned in Canyon Point, Utah, at the Amangiri resort, where the average suite goes for $5,000.
More recently, Ye’s former law firm was told that they needed to do more than place an ad in the paper to let the musician know that he’s been dropped as a client. The firm of Greenberg Traurig had been representing Ye in a lawsuit concerning an allegedly unlicensed music sample. The firm, however, decided to part ways with their client (as did other firms) following his recent controversy. They have been unable to make contact with him, however, to tell him the news, claiming in court that he had changed his telephone numbers and has evaded process servers. Maybe these lawyers can work out a deal with the paparazzi who seem to know how to find him?
