Migos Rapper Takeoff Shot Dead in Houston at Age 28, Reports Say

Migos rapper Takeoff — real name Kirshnik Khari Ball — was shot dead in Houston, Texas, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to reports from Rolling Stone and TMZ. He was 28.

Houston Police Department said early Tuesday that officers had responded to a shooting at 1200 Polk and a victim was found dead when they arrived. Two other victims were taken to the hospital in private vehicles to be treated.

The police department said it would not be “releasing an identity of the deceased victim until his family is notified & ID verified by Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.” 

However, a Houston Police Department spokesperson confirmed that Takeoff and Quavo — real names Kirshnik Ball and Quavious Marshall — were at the location at the time of the shooting.

Local news outlet Click2Houston reported that police confirmed to them that the deceased is a “Black male in his 20’s.”

Insider has reached out to representatives of Migos for comment.
